Free apps to learn mindfulness

Mindfulness is a great tool to help learn to distance yourself from your thoughts and not get so stuck on worries. One way to practice this is by using an app which will help guide you into this practice. There’s no real need to go with one of the paid apps when there are so many great free ones.

My personal favorite is the Mindfulness Coach - developed by the VA - which offers a free mindfulness course, including guided meditations. I have used the Awareness of the Body meditation (a body scan) to help fall back asleep after experiencing insomnia - it really works!
